Summary

This local grant opportunity is offered by a municipal government in Arizona and is available to nonprofit organizations serving the immediate community. The goal is to help nonprofits carry out programs that preserve, protect, educate, and enhance the local community’s quality of life—especially in areas tied to health, safety, culture, history, welfare, and community well-being.

Only tax-exempt nonprofit entities (e.g. those recognized under IRS 501(c)(3) or equivalent) may apply. Organizations must have been operating for at least one year and must show that they have financial support from more than just this grant, meaning they should be able to sustain their operations beyond the grant period. Individuals, families, or organizations whose primary purpose is religious evangelism, political advocacy, or non-charitable benefit are not eligible.

Grants are monetary awards—direct funding for programs rather than in-kind services. The total funding allocated for a cycle is roughly $40,000, and individual proposals can request amounts up to $10,000. Because the awards are modest, applicants are expected to propose realistic, measurable projects and focus on programmatic expenses (rather than indirect overhead, administrative fees, or salaries unrelated to the project). The funds must be used for the program described—not for changing the scope after the fact.

Applications open each year with a fixed deadline (for example, early November). After submission, a review committee of community members (residents, business leaders, municipal staff) evaluates proposals and makes funding recommendations, typically forwarding them to a local council or decision-making body for final approval. Awards are announced in the fall or early winter, and funds disbursed thereafter. Recipients must submit a report at the end of their grant period documenting outcomes, progress, and finances. Multi-year commitments are not usually made, but organizations may reapply each year.

Organizations and individuals based in Arizona who are engaged in Non-Profit Support Services may be eligible to apply for this funding opportunity. To discover more grants that align with your mission and objectives, visit The Grant Portal and explore listings using the Search Grant tool.
